Day 1: ARUSHA - TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK
(2 hour’s drive)

Depart in the morning from Arusha for a visit of Tarangire National Park, an elephant and baobab land par excellence who live here in perfect symbiosis. The landscapes of the park are of a rare and wild beauty. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park and look out for animals until sunset. Arrive and set up camp at a campsite inside the park. Dinner and overnight spent in a tent.

Day 2: TARANGIRE - LAKE NATRON
(5 hours’ drive)

Depart after breakfast heading in the direction of Lake Natron following a path winding along the escarpment of the Great Rift Valley. Enjoy a picnic lunch under the shade of an acacia tree, Lake Natron can now be perceived on the horizon as you approach. The temperature gradually increases on the trail descending to the foot of the Ol Donyio Lengai volcano (Mount Masai 2878 m, considered sacred by the Maasai) whose slopes are covered with soda ash and lava that give the terrain a lunar aspect.  Arrive in the mid-afternoon and set up camp at a campsite overlooking Lake Natron. Enjoy some rest and later on take in the spectacle of the sun setting over Lake Natron and the Great Rift Valley.

Day 3: LAKE NATRON

After breakfast depart on a walk to the shores of Lake Natron where thousands of flamingos and hundreds of pelicans are gathered. The lake has a high concentration of alkaline salts which has led the reproduction of a microscopic alga essential for the survival and reproduction of flamingo .Return back to the camp for lunch. Set out in the afternoon on foot to the Ngare Sero waterfalls; enjoy bathing under several waterfalls that drain into a gorge of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Return to the camp for dinner and overnight in a tent under the starry African sky.

Day 4: LAKE NATRON - LAKE MANYARA
(4 hours’ drive)

Depart after breakfast for Lake Manyara National Park by taking a track that winds along the escarpment of the Great Rift Valley. Lake Manyara is an alkaline lake at the foot of the Great Rift Valley Escarpment. It is also a reserve that shelters forest elephants and an unusual population of tree climbing lions. The birds inhabiting the shores of the lake are of an extraordinary variety. Each year hundreds of species of migratory birds nest at Manyara. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park and look out for animals all afternoon Exit the park before sunset to set up camp in a camp site in the village of Mto Wa Mbu, a large regional market nestled in lush tropical vegetation. Dinner and overnight spent in a tent.

Day 5: LAKE MANYARA - NGORONGORO CRATER
(1 ½ hours’ drive)

Depart after breakfast for the Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area .The road crosses the escarpment of the Great Rift Valley and ascends the high Ngorongoro plateau, ascending by the trail on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater through a primary forest up to a marvelous panoramic point of view overlooking the 600 meter deep caldera of over 18 Km in diameter where almost all of African wildlife is gathered. Descend to the floor of the crater for a game drive to search for animals. Enjoy a picnic lunch and drive back up the crater by a steep trail on the ridge to set up camp before sunset at a camp site overlooking the world’s largest crater.

Day 6: NGORONGORO CRATER - LAKE EYASI
(3 hours’ drive)

Depart after the breakfast heading in the direction Lake Eyasi, an alkaline lake of the Great Rift Valley where some of the most ancient ethnicities of Tanzania live.   Arrive in time for lunch and set up camp. In the afternoon visit a traditional Datoga village, one of the oldest ethnic groups in the Great Rift Valley. Return to the camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: LAKE EYASI - ARUSHA
(4 hours’ drive)

Depart at dawn for an encounter with one of the last Pygmy hunter-gatherers of Tanzania; the Hadzabes. Followed by a demonstration of hunting skills with bow and arrow, discover their ancestral customs. Return back to the camp for lunch. Drive back to Arusha in the afternoon
