A sensational and original experience for all trekking enthusiasts and lovers of nature, tracking wild animals in the company of Tsavo’s National park rangers , one of Kenya’s wildest parks.

Programme and Itinerary

Day 1: NAIROBI –TSAVO WEST NATIONAL PARK
(5 hours’ drive)

Meet & Greet at Nairobi International Airport in the morning hours and depart heading in the direction of Tsavo West National Park. Arrive at the "Kudu wild camping site” directly facing the banks of the Tsavo River. Set up camp and enjoy lunch. Depart in the afternoon for a game drive, touring the park by car until dusk. The park is set in a web of dense vegetation consisting of thorns of all kinds, an almost impenetrable bush where many elephants take the red color of the soil, buffalo, giraffes, waterbucks, kudus, impalas, dik-diks, klipspringers... Drive to the "Roaring Rocks" viewpoint to admire the panoramic views and the sun setting over the Chyulu Hills and Mount Kilimanjaro. Return to the camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: TASVO WEST- CHYULU HILLS
(3 hours’ walk)

After breakfast depart for a leisurely walk lasting around 3 hours on the slopes of the Chyulu Hills, a chain of volcanic hills that were formed after a recent eruption that dates only 500 years ago. From the excursion, depart for the "Shetani lava flow” at about 900 meters of altitude all the way to the summit of a small volcano bearing the same name culminating at 1500 meters. Enjoy a picnic lunch then return to the vehicle for an exploration of the park all afternoon, doing a game drive in search of the park’s wildlife. Return to the wild camping site at sunset. Dinner around a campfire and overnight under the starry African sky.

Day 3: TSAVO WEST – TSAVO RIVER
(3 hours’ walk)

After breakfast, depart on foot before the sun is too high for Mzima springs; a resurgence of crystal clear waters, filtered by Tsavo’s volcanic rocks, forming pools inhabited by hippos and crocodiles. Enjoy a picnic lunch and thereafter explore the park by vehicle until sunset. Return to wild camping for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: TSAVO WEST – TSAVO RIVER
(3 hours’ walk)

After breakfast, depart for a 3-hour long morning walk along the Tsavo River, tracking wildlife. Return back to camp for lunch. Embark on a late afternoon game drive to look for animals. Back to the wild camp for dinner and night.

Day 5: TSAVO WEST – CLIMBING KICHWA TEMBO ROCK
(3 hours’ uphill climb)

Early breakfast and depart to climb Kichwa Tembo on an elevation of 500 m, a rocky peak overlooking Tsavo West at 1100 m altitude. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park. Embark on a game drive in search for animals by car in the afternoon until sunset. Overnight at the "Kudu" wild camp.

Day 6: TSAVO WEST – MOMBASA
(5 hours’ drive)

Depart after breakfast for the coast crossing Tsavo West along the Tsavo River.Exit Tsavo West Park at "Man-Eaters Gate" near the famous Tsavo Bridge. Towards the end of the 19th Century, workers on the railway line were attacked by man-eating lions at this same area! Enjoy a picnic lunch along the way. Expected time of arrival at your hotel or Mombasa Airport is in the early evening.
