Back to adventure circuits

If the driving time appears long, we take into account the frequent stops, passage through villages and different terrains, the landscape is extremely varied and changing.

Day 1: Mombasa - Tsavo West NATIONAL PARK
(4 hours’ drive)

Depart from your hotel at 6 am for the Tsavo West National Park. Make entry into the park in the middle of the morning and drive up the Ngulia hills plateau. Arrive and set up camp in time for lunch. During the middle of the afternoon, set out to explore the park until sunset. Visit the famous Mzima Springs; a resurgence of crystal clear waters, filtered by the volcanic Tsavo rocks, forming pools of water inhabited by hippos and crocodiles, then explore the Roaring Rocks site on foot and admire the panoramic views and the sun setting over the Chyulu Hills and Mount Kilimanjaro. Return back to the camp for dinner spend the night in a tent.

Depart after breakfast for an easy 3 hour long walk on the slopes of the Chyulu hills, a range of volcanic hills having been formed as a result of an eruption dating about 500 years ago. Embark on an excursion to the "Shetani lava flow “which is at about 900 meters of altitude all the way to the summit of a small volcano bearing the same name culminating at 1500 meters of altitude. Enjoy a picnic lunch and then return to the vehicle for an exploration of the park for the remainder of the afternoon in search of the animals of Tsavo. Return to the camp at sunset. The shores of Lake Jipe team up with birds of all kinds and colors and elephant herds have the habit of coming here to drink water. Depart to the park for a game drive in search of animals at the end of the afternoon. Drive back in time to observe the sun setting on Mount Kilimanjaro and the Pare Mountains. After dinner, keep vigil around the campfire before retiring for the night in your room.
