If the driving time appears long, we take into account the frequent stops, passage through villages and different terrains, the landscape is extremely varied and changing.
Day 1: NAIROBI - AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK
(4 ½ hours’ drive)
Meet & Greet in the morning at Nairobi International Airport and depart for Amboseli National Park on the road that heads towards Mount Kilimanjaro. Drive back to the camp and enjoy dinner around a campfire and spend the night in a tent.
Day 2 : AMBOSELI
This day is dedicated to the exploration of Amboseli. Depart at dawn for a safari driving along the winding Enkongo marsh which is permanently fed by underground seepage from the snowmelt of Kilimanjaro where herds of elephants concentrate, crossing to the edge of the Ol Tukai palm forest, a lions’ hide-out, where they lie in wait for prey. Drive back to the camp arriving in time for lunch. Depart afresh for a safari in the park all afternoon. Return to the camp at sunset, enjoy dinner around a campfire and thereafter spend the night in a tent gazing at the starry African night.
Day 3: AMBOSELI -TSAVO WEST NATIONAL PARK
(3 hours’ drive)
Depart for Tsavo West National Park after breakfast. Arrive and set up camp in the middle of the park and have lunch. Depart for a game drive in the park in the middle of the afternoon until sun set. Visit the famous Mzima Springs; a resurgence of crystal clear waters, filtered by Tsavo’s volcanic rocks, forming pools of water inhabited by hippos and crocodiles, then explore the Roaring Rocks site on foot and admire the panoramic views and the sun setting over the Chyulu Hills and Mount Kilimanjaro. Return to the camp for dinner and spend the night in a tent.
