In the footsteps of the Great wildebeest and zebra migration, between the Masai Mara Game Reserve in Kenya and the northern parks of Tanzania, making stops in semi-permanent canvas camps, small luxurious structures in the heart of national parks.
Programme and itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi - Masai Mara
(6 ½ hours’ drive)
Meet & Greet in the morning at Nairobi Airport and depart by road for Masai Mara through village roads and grandiose landscapes of the Great Rift Valley to the northern part of the Masai Mara Game Reserve which is the most protected area of the park and receives few visitors. Arrive and check in for lunch at Hammerkop Migration Camp, a semi-permanent luxurious camp nestled on the banks of the Mara River which is frequented by hippos. Depart in the afternoon for a game drive in search of animals until sunset. Return to the camp for dinner. The night falls, giving way to the sounds of the bush in the background.

Day 2: Mara Musiara
This day is dedicated to the exploration of the park, the search for the great wildebeest and zebra migration, observing wild animals in their natural habitat. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park and drive back for dinner and overnight at Hammerkop Migration Camp.
Day 3: Mara North
Embark on a game drive at sunrise then change camp towards the north of the park. Arrive and check in for lunch at Kilima Mara Camp, a luxurious tented camp overlooking the Mara Triangle bordered by the Mara River. It is set on the Siria Escarpment. Depart for a game drive in Masai Mara Game Reserve in the afternoon until sunset. Return to Camp for dinner.
Day 4: Mara Triangle
This day is dedicated to the exploration of the Mara triangle. Wake up with your sights on the savanna, enjoy an English breakfast and depart following the winding course of the Mara River before the sun is too high. Enjoy a picnic lunch then change terrain in direction of the endless plains of the south towards the Tanzanian border, following the large herbivore herds. Return to Mara Kilima Camp for dinner, and vigil around a campfire. The overnight is spent in a tent.
Day 5: Masai Mara - Sirare - North West Serengeti
(6 ½ hours drive)
Depart with a picnic lunch after breakfast for Sirare border town which is near the Lake Victoria, proceed with passport and immigration formalities and cross into Tanzania heading in the direction the vast plains of Serengeti National Park, the theater world’s largest herbivore migration. Arrive in the late afternoon to set up camp in Tanganyika Mara Camp, a luxurious private semi-permanent camp in the North West of Serengeti National Park. If the time allows, embark on a game drive in the vicinity in search of wildlife before sunset. Dinner and overnight at Tanganyika Mara Camp.
Day 6: North West Serengeti
This day is dedicated to exploring the North West region of the park in search of the great migration to the edge of Masai Mara Game Reserve: depart at sunrise and enjoy a picnic lunch in the park. Drive back at sunset to Tanganyika Mara Camp.
Day 7: North West Serengeti – Central Serengeti
(2 hours’ drive through the park)
Embark on a game drive at dawn and then depart after breakfast heading in the direction central Serengeti. Arrive and check in for lunch at Angata Seronera Camp, another luxurious semi-permanent camp in the real heart of the Serengeti National Park.
Day 8: Central Serengeti
Game drive in search of Serengeti wildlife and animal viewing all day. Accommodation at Angata Seronera Camp.
Day 9: Serengeti - Ngorongoro Crater
(4 hours’ drive through the park)
Last morning game drive in search of animals and depart with a picnic lunch for Ngorongoro. Stop at the Olduvai Gorge prehistoric and archaeological site where the origins of man were nestled almost 3 million years ago. Arrive at the rim the Ngorongoro Crater at a wonderful view point overlooking the 600 m deep caldera of over 18 km in diameter. Late check in at Angata Ngorongoro camp, a semi-permanent luxurious tented camp superbly overlooking the world's largest caldera. Dinner and overnight at the crater at 2,600 meters altitude.
Day 10: Ngorongoro - Tarangire
(3 hours’ drive)
Enjoy an early breakfast and depart on a trail down to the crater floor for an early morning game drive in search of the resident wildlife. Enjoy a picnic lunch and then climb up to the rim by a steep trail. Descend by a trail through a dense primary forest in the direction a valley of the Great Rift Valley. Arrive at Tarangire and check in at Angata Tarangire Camp, a semi-permanent canvas camp located in the heart of the park. Dinner and overnight at Camp.
Day 11: Tarangire
Depart after breakfast for a visit of Tarangire National Park, a land par excellence of elephants and baobabs who live here in perfect symbiosis. The landscapes of the park are of rare and wild beauty. Drive back to the camp for lunch and thereafter return in the afternoon for a game drive in search of animals. At sunset return to Angata Tarangire Camp for dinner and overnight
Day 12: Tarangire - Arusha – Kilimanjaro Airport
(3 hours’ drive)
Last morning in Tarangire National Park and depart for Arusha after lunch. Transfer during the early evening to Kilimanjaro International Airport for return flight.
